Then Jesus, after groaning again within himself, came to the tomb. This was not a problem for He who is going to resurrect those whose judgement is favorable. After four days Lazarus’ body had started to decay. Jesus arrived on His time and schedule and to His purpose. It is a gift to each of us and we really need to understand this gift. He has opened His heart and mind to us to the extent we can understand His purpose. They are there to demonstrate love and deeper consideration of how God works and why He does what He does. Reading it gives a cursory knowledge but studying it shows the deeper meaning and exposes that each word written has weight and meaning. The Bible can be read or the Bible can be studied. Jesus got their message but elected to wait two days before going to the family. The two sisters of Lazarus sent a message to Jesus telling Him that their brother was deathly ill:ģ So his sisters sent a message to him, saying: “Lord, see! the one you have affection for is sick.” John 11: 3 At the time Lazarus became ill, and eventually died, was across the Jordan River. It appears that Jesus had visited the family as friends many times and knew them quite well. You have heard of Lazarus? Lazarus and his family were great friends of Jesus. ![]()
